TEP Practicum students had the opportunity to attend a seminar facilitated by Principal Oslay Gil of Riverland Elementary School on Wednesday, November 4th. They learned about professional interviewing skills and were able to role play with Principal Gil himself. This was great practice for the Mock Interview Event that will take place during their Student Teaching semester.

 Bring a laptop if you have one and any course critical assignments you have saved on a flash drive or computer. This will be a working session where you create the portfolio template. Also bring course syllabi if you have them as the critical assignments are listed there.

Energy Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship Program Now Accepting Applications. The Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship (MLEF) Program provides students with an opportunity to gain and develop research skills with the Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy for 10 weeks over the summer. For 20 years, this program has increased awareness of DOE research opportunities to students pursuing STEM degrees (science, technology, engineering and math). TEP students had the incredible opportunity to visit and tour the Linda Ray Intervention Center at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine through Professor Walker's ESE Assessment course.  While there, students attended a presentation given by the Director / UM Faculty member, Dr. Lynn Katz, about the LRIC's early intervention program for children 0-3 years old who were prenatally-exposed to cocaine. TEP students were also able to meet some of the infants and toddlers.

Therapeutic Riding Instructor Interns will work directly with Marie Lim along with other instructors. The lessons are supervised and demonstrated by Marie Lim and assisted by a horse handler and side walkers. Interns will learn the following:
1. Equine Therapy as an alternative therapy for those with special needs.
2. To use Equine Activities as a teaching aid for those with physical and/or mental disabilities.
