Green Children’s House Montessori School: Internship Opportunity


Green Children’s House Montessori School would like to give the opportunity
to any students who are interested in doing an internship in the field of education
to be part of our school.
School begins on August 21, 2017 and we would like to afford the internship possibility
to a student who meets the following criteria:
-          Possess a Broward County Background Screening
-          Good academic standing with a GPA of at least 3.0
-          Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
-          An interest in working with young children within a Montessori philosophy where children learn to be independent and self-sufficient
-          Be energetic
-          Able to work 5-10 hours per week; unpaid position, but credit can be given (if applicable)

-          Able to work independently and as part of a team

NMB Library Summer Camp Instructor/Teacher- Seasonal - Full or Part-time
Job Title: Teacher/ Counselor‐ Summer Camp Reading/Math/ Science/ Phys-Ed Instructor
Required: Elementary Certification‐K‐6 or 6-12
Desired: Reading Specialist Certification K‐12/ Science Teacher

Teachers for Reading/Math Camp will be expected to plan and carry out instructional level guided reading groups, whole group reading lessons, writing instruction using the writing process, and writing assignments in response to reading. This is a reinforcement and responsibility will be shared with high-school age counselors working under the Teacher’s direct supervision.

Teachers will also be expected to review general concepts of the math and science curriculum in a manner that reinforces the STEAM based Library Summer Program at
grade level for the various groups within the small library camp.

Teachers should be familiar with conducting physical exercise and activities two – 3 times a week.

Teachers should be comfortable conducting read‐alouds designed to deepen students’ understanding of complex texts.

Teachers should be comfortable with coaching students to use reading strategies.

Teachers should be comfortable with HS age students. They will be overseeing their work, collaboration and interaction with the students.

Teachers should be knowledgeable of technology and have a willingness to learn various skills that align with coding and robotics instruction that will be takin place.

Teaching time during the Summer Camp will be approximately 2 hours a day. 4 hours will be dedicated to overseeing other camp activities or planning other engagement that leads to learning through a hands on method in order to address various learning modes.

Outdoor activities will be limited to 1 ½ hours maximum.

Teacher positions are for June 19th – July 31st, 2017
Teacher/ Camp Instructors will be scheduled 4-6 hours a day if part time and 8 hours a day if full time. This is a seasonal position.
