WINGS- Another Scholarship Opportunity!

Please see the below information on a potential scholarship opportunity!  They are currently accepting applications for the Summer term and will also be offering scholarships for the fall term.  Completed applications can be mailed to the address below.
Please mail or place in a BCC inter-office envelope to:

Scholarships are available for women students attending BC who are pursuing certificate and degree programs and meet the following criteria:
1.   35 years of age or older 
2.   Separated, divorced, widowed or has a disabled spouse or spouse out of work
3.   Can prove financial need or hardship
4.   Attending Broward College and taking a minimum of six (6) credits and a GPA 2.5
5.    Must have completed FAFSA application and have a confirmation number.
1.    You may apply online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
     The application must be fully completed and must include:
1.   Copy of driver’s license.
2.   Proof of marital status.
3.   FASFA confirmation number.
4.   A written statement stating career goals, financial hardship and obstacles you have overcome.

Congratulations to our Graduates!

Congratulations!
Graduation May 6th, 2011

On May 6th, 2011 the Teacher Education Program celebrated the accomplishment of 13 of our students.  There were 8 graduates from the Exceptional Student Education Program and 5 graduates from our Math Education Program.  See below for some of the pictures from the 50th anniversary Commencement Ceremony!

Sal Khan at Broward College!

Sponsored by Title V Co-Op grant and hosted by the Teacher Education Program, we are excited to announce a presentation by Sal Khan at Bailey Hall on May 24th, 2011 from
5 p.m. – 6 p.m.. 

Sal Khan is the founder of the Khan Academy, a free on-line education platform that produces videos mainly focusing on math and science.  He has been featured on TED and acknowledge by Bill Gates for his ingenuity.  Please join us for a dose of inspiration and creativity in education!

The Student Handbook has been updated and posted under "important documents".  These updates will be effective beginning this summer!  Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the changes.  Pay special attention to Critical Assignments, Assignment Due Date, and Attendance policy updates.
