January 21st- ALL security badges MUST be turned into the Clinical Director and you must be registered for field placement. HINT: The link to register for placement AND for security clearance are on the right of this blog.
Students are required to meet with their cooperating teacher(s) within one week of being placed to complete the Field Experience Contract and create a schedule. Students must submit the original field experience contract to the Clinical Director, Miss Verboom, immediately following the initial meeting with the cooperating teacher(s). If students have multiple placement assignments, students are still required to complete the field experience contracts and submit them within one week of being placed, even if the field experience hours will be completed later in the term.

Guided Placement: The student works with the cooperating teacher and participates in class activities. This placement will NOT include a lesson plan and students will NOT be observed.
Structured Placements: the student works with the cooperating teacher to plan, teach and/or assess learner(s). The student may be required to create and implement a lesson plan and then will be observed working with the learner(s) as outlined in the course syllabus.
Practicum: The student completes 50 hours of a structured placement. Observations and field work must include a minimum of one day per week for eight weeks. The student is required to create and implement three lesson plans and will be observed working with learner(s) as outlined in the course syllabus.
Student Teaching: The student will demonstrate and apply teaching competencies during their field work with a minimum of 35 contact hours per week for 15 weeks.
