- Completed one year of college-level biology, earth science, ocean science, environmental science, or chemistry
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Good academic and disciplinary standing at home university/college
- Will still be an undergraduate in the Fall 2014 semester at home university/college
- US Citizen or permanent resident
- Fluent in English
- Comfortable in ocean and outdoor settings
- Respectful of and compatible with fellow students in dormitory-style accommodations
- Able to adjust to life on a quiet, remote tropical island
Successful applicants to the REU program
will receive room and board at LCRC, funds for transportation to and from Little
Cayman and a competitive stipend. Participants will need to provide their own
passport (required for travel to the Cayman Islands), travel insurance, DAN
insurance (required for divers and snorkelers), and personal expenses.
